Wall of Sound

Wall Of Sound was formed in the early '90s by Soul Trader founder Marc Lessner and all round madman Mark Jones. The label boasts an incredible roster of artists such as Mekon, Akasha, The Wiseguys, Jon Carter (aka Junior Cartier), Derek Dahlarge, Les Rythmes Digitales, and Propellerheads to name but a few. The label has spawned three sub-labels (which for clarity's sake are all listed as WOS), Nu-Camp (club), Bad Magic (hip hop), and We Love You (indie/alternative). Below you'll find some more recent additions to their labels incuding Norwegian electropophouse duo Royksopp and alternative indie group The Bees.

The Bees
The Bees
This wonky pop duo from the Isle of Wight combines '70s light rock textures with a little bit of this and a little bit of that -- some funk, some tropicalia, some smooth reggae. The effect is the warm bliss of a perfect summer afternoon.

Dirty Beatniks
London punk-house pioneers Dirty Beatniks blend sleazy Black Grape-ish vocals with chemical Underworld beats for their explosive house amalgams on Wall Of Sound. Epicurus, you might have met your match.

I Am Kloot
Cheeky Manchester trio I Am Kloot is the newest force in the burgeoning U.K. acoustic pop movement. Their lush, folky, rambling mini-epics strike an appealing balance between offbeat whimsy and palatable hooks.

Royksopp
Norwegian duo Royksopp's sultry lounge-house has turned heads the world over. After a couple seven-inch releases on Bergen's Telle, they signed with London's finest, Wall Of Sound.
