Some Records

Some Records started as a small New York-based hardcore label. They've forged ahead and found their niche by releasing emotionally driven, melodic hardcore bands such as Hot Water Music and Six Going On Seven. With the addition of rockers J-Majesty and singer-songwriter Eric Mingus, Some Records has diversified its roster into exciting new territories.

Beyond
For one year in the late '80s, Beyond made some of the most original and creative hardcore to come out of the New York scene. It's hard, fast, and loud, and it still sounds fresh as a stinkin' daisy.

No Longer At Ease

Errortype: Eleven
To look at them, you might guess that Errortype: Eleven was your generic earnest hardcore band. Unh-uh. No, actually the group plays punk that masquerades as radio-friendly red-blooded hard rock. This is a good thing.

Amplified to Rock
The Crank EP

Hot Water Music
This seminal Gainesville, Florida band delivers the goods with rousing hardcore anthems that are positively running over with sincerity and raw, robust power.

No Division

J-Majesty
Emotional and charming music that defies easy categorization. J-Majesty's music is as smooth as a chocolate milkshake and as energizing as a carriage ride down a dirt road.

J-Majesty

Eric Mingus
New York bassist/vocalist Eric Mingus lives up to his famous name with his innovative blend of jazz, R&B, and gripping spoken word poetry.

Um...Er...

Six Going On Seven
Boston's Six Going on Seven crafts some remarkably satisfying melodic emo that is chock full of emotional intensity and rock power. This band isn't afraid to get loud, but it isn't afraid to get pretty either.

Heartbreaks Got Backbeat

Woe
This British quartet is hard to describe and you'll see why. They're jazzy, but they definitely don't play jazz, they're punk, but in ethos alone, they've got dub textures, but those are very subtle. Call it moody, rhythmic instrumental music from the dark side.
