Knw-Yr-Own
Based in the remote Puget Sound island town of Anacortes, Washington, Knw-Yr-Own has been turning out releases by the cream of the Pacific Northwest indie rock scene for a decade and a half. Founded by Beat Happening alumnus (and D+ member) Bret Lunsford, Knw-Yr-Own has evolved into a loose-knit collective of friends and musicians with headquarters in the back of a book and record store called The Business on the town's main drag of Commercial Avenue. Knw-Yr-Own's impressive roster features such local luminaries as The Crabs, Microphones, Nate Ashley, Karl Blau, and Button Happy.
Nate Ashley
Nate Ashley is a Pacific Northwest singer-songwriter with a sound that's both classic and contemporary. His pensive, restrained pieces feel like timeless folk-pop, even as they gracefully incorporate modern electronics and found sounds.
