Thrill Jockey Records was founded by music industry veteran Bettina Richards in her Manhattan apartment in 1992. In 1995 the company packed up and moved to the thriving Chicago scene where they have remained ever since.

Thrill Jockey has spent the past twenty years working with a wide range of artists including avant-garde luminaries Tortoise and The Fiery Furnaces, experimental acts Oval and Boredom, Chicago Jazz legend Fred Anderson, Baltimore post-wavers Future Islands, benga-rockers Extra Golden, and the incomparable Daniel Higgs.

Through the years Thrill Jockey has firmly cemented their reputation for success through continuously pushing the envelope of experimentation.
