One of life’s greatest and most simple pleasures is the ability to recount old memories. Whether its through smell, sight, or sound, memory is an imperative force that truly defines a human being. As we age, recalling the memory of your first kiss becomes harder but, as science currently aims to prove, through music these memories come back in the blink of an eye. It’s this ability to connect to an audience, to make them see entire scenes from their life flash before their eyes that make a truly wonderful band. This is exactly what makes Minor Characters one of Chicago’s most unique and celebrated bands.
With their retro-pop rhythms and captivating indie melodies, Minor Characters take you back to your first summer love and beyond. The local quartet began their great musical adventure in December of 2010 and have been going non-stop ever since. With a number of live shows throughout the area, a pit-stop at SXSW, and most recently with their Epitonic saki Session. Playing to a mesmerized crowd, the band brought a interestingly familiar sound that brought to mind some of our favorite folk tunes of the late 60’s and early 70’s.
Made up of 7 tracks, this Epitonic saki Session has quickly become one of our favorites. Minor Characters continues to play shows around the Chicago area and are currently working on new material scheduled for the fall. Be on the lookout for these local up-and-comers and enjoy some live recordings of these hard to find tracks.
