my friend sent me one of the most intriguing electronic mails i've ever received with no explanation. an excerpt:

"I have been working with Dr. Bible in Electro Magnetic Research who is in his eighties. Friday we listened to Proton Molecules hooked up to these intense headphones and magnets. Dude, It was sooooooooooooooo cool! Each proton has a very distinctive sound which identifies its molecular structure. One sounded like a gong, others like chimes, but each signature was unique and unlike any identifiable musical instrument. We recorded a couple of them on cassette tape. I will try to get a copy for you."
