The Poconos
Jigsaw Records
They didn't leave us with much -- just one release -- but Hoboken, New Jersey's The Poconos were a great lo-fi pop duo during their short existence. Named for a mountain range in nearby Pennsylvania, the duo of Mike (drums) and Tammi (guitar) played simple, sweet, high-energy songs celebrating love and youth, trading vocals all the way. They put out their one EP, the six-song Days Are Getting Shorter, on Seattle's Jigsaw Records in April 1999, and disbanded soon after.
