The Impossible Five's compelling blend of varied influences is a big part of their appeal. These Washington DC adolescents take bits of early Cure, Rites of Spring, spy music, and lounge, and throw them all together into the mix. The end result is a debut effort so strong you'll be scratching your head wondering why you hadn't heard of these guys yet. The Impossible Five have become notorious for their frenzied live shows in the DC area, which consist of a lethal combination of hip shakes, hand claps, alluring glances, and hard sneers. Like a number of DC teen heroes from past (think Nation of Ulysses), these kids bring a much-needed burst of energy to a scene that seems to grow more tired by the day.
