You can pretty much guess what New Hampshire's The Bruisers are going to sound like from their name alone, and they don't disappoint. The band has been toiling in relative obscurity throughout the New England area since the '80s, but they've become well known in the Oi! and hardcore punk communities for their punishing, working class street-punk anthems. Their stuff is about as hard as you could hope to get -- or conceivably endure. Founding members Jeff Morris and Al Barr (also of the
Dropkick Murphys) have remained at the helm, even after the 1996 death of their rhythm guitarist Richard Mark Wimert. Most recently they released a blistering batch of early tracks, The Authorized Bruisers: Anything You Want, a rare and unreleased collection called In the Pit - Live and Rare, and an EP, Molotov. "Society's Fools" can be found on the TKO Records comp Punchdrunk II.
