Originally from Yokohama, Japan and now living in New York, So Takahashi is a maker of superbly surreal electronic music. Using vintage Roland drum machines, guitars, a theremin, and found sounds from his kitchen and electrical appliances, Takahashi runs amuck in his bedroom studio doing whatever takes his fancy. He has two albums under his belt, Nubus and 30/30, the latter created specifically for an art installation entitled "For Rent" which consisted of 30 audio pieces for 30 photographs by Fumiko Nozawa of empty rooms. Both have been well-received by those with a penchant for electronic music of the bizarre variety.
