Smile
Cargo Music
Smile launches into an impressive assortment of perfectly produced and performed power pop on Girl Crushes Boy, their second full-length album. Smile has successfully blended the West Coast pop-punk sound with a more East Coast Beatles-pop aesthetic. Imagine Blink 182 crossed with Superdrag with a little Weezer to make it interesting. Smile's producers, Mark Trombino Drive Like Jehu, Blink 182, Jimmy Eat World) and Adam Kasper (Soundgarden, Foo Fighters, Weezer) help to explain these influences. Smile has made a great rock record that is destined to be adored both by the masses and by finicky critics.
