Ghostly International
The young Virginia-based producer Outputmessage, aka Bernard Farley, really did audition, in a sense, on Ghostly's acclaimed 2003 compilation Idol Tryouts. Featured alongside work by Midwest Product, Matthew Dear, and others, his exclusive track "Bernard's Song" builds eerie harmonic layers atop gently skittering breakbeats, demonstrating a sense of modernism and melody that should make him right at home in the Ghostly camp. Outputmessage's other recorded track to date is a remix of the Dabrye cut "Payback" from a 2002 12-inch. Expect good things to come from this young artist.
