Macgillicuddys
Turducken Recordings
They call themselves "New Orleans' First and Only Rock and Roll Band," and while that may be a bit of an overstatement, it's certainly true that Macgillicuddys know a thing or three about rock music. Their sound is fast and raw, mixing blistering guitar, pounding drums, roiling bass, and snarling attitude. It's grimy and greasy, pointedly Southern and totally catchy.
The Macgillicuddys contributed two songs to the N.O.-Fi compilation, a live documentation of New Orleans punk, garage, and surf music, including the rude 'n' rowdy "Pork Chop Cash," recorded live at the Mermaid Lounge.
