Lo Magnifica takes the reigns of a Chicago rock stampede gone bad. Yeah, the members of the Chicago music community have been more into pushing the envelope with their instruments, arrangements and recording techinques than simply rocking out. Of course progression is vital to maintaining the existence of an art form, but what about the progression of underground rock and roll? There are plenty of people these days are are left craving the next plateau of rock. Lo Magnifica is one Chicago band that has helped further this cause. Elements of the Archers of Loaf, Polvo, and Sonic Youth help this quartet write some downright excellent pop songs that do indeed rock out.
