Brique Rouge
Based in Paris, France, Les Macons De La Musique are at the epicenter of the burgeoning French deep house movement. Heralded by the likes of Pepe Bradock, Julian Jabre, and Julia Set this movement now has two more heroes in the form of house "music masons" David Duriez and Ludovic Llorca. Duriez has a rich back catalog on labels such as Filth, Subscience, Jinxx, 20:20 Vision, and WEA. His debut release for Ralph Lawson's well-respected 20:20 Vision imprint, the Plastic Music Under Blister EP, was a huge hit on the underground circuit and helped place him firmly into the media spotlight.
Llorca is a veteran of the French house scene and has released a number of successful singles on Laurent Garnier's much lauded F Communications imprint, including both "Can't Take It" and the Little Computer People EP. Llorca also works with underground house imprint Peekaboo and remixes for artists and labels worldwide. Together Llorca and Duriez run the Brique Rouge label and record under the guise of Les Macons De La Musique.
The original mix of "The Main Key" is taken from the (highly sought after) first release on Brique Rouge entitled Now We Are Doing Our Own Thing. Its deep chugging beats, warm hypnotic synths, and freeform keys are sure to please even the most particular house music connoisseur. F Communications, Placktown Sounds, and Wrong Steps house genius Jori Hulkkonen gets top marks for his remix, which adds a smooth layer of funk over the original.
