Harriet the Spy
Troubleman Unlimited
Kent, Ohio's Harriet the Spy are the gods of everything spastic in the basements of underground rock. They tie a knot securing the most well-written guitar riffs around hyper speed super arty indie punk. Their frenetic sound blast is driven by a drummer who is every drumstick's nightmare: he beats the crap out those road-worn skins harder than ol' Mr. Pearl or Mr. Ludwig ever feared. Don't worry, the bass is just as sick and appealing, adding even more twisted melodies in a thunderous growl like a 50-story-tall rabid cat. This is arena rock for those with a severe case of attention deficit disorder. The title of Harriet the Spy's 1998 full-length pretty much says it all: Unfuckwithable.
