G-Pal
Plastic City
Born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece, George Pallikaris moved to New York in the mid-'90s to pursue a degree in music technology. After a few years of honing his craft, Pallikaris dropped his first release in '97, a double-pack for Clive Henry's much lauded Low Pressings. UCMG's New York A&R head Rick Salzer seized the opportunity and signed Pallikaris, as G-Pal, to a growing roster which includes E.B.E., Kenneth Graham, and ADNY.
Since then, Pallikaris's subtle progressive techno-house hybrid has appeared on releases from Intrinsic Design, Plastic City, Bedrock, Ovum, Yoshitoshi, and Swift. The lush, moving "After Life" is taken from the Mole Listening Pearls double CD, Room Service Volume One, alongside tracks by Plaid, Jaffa, Minus 8, and Lemongrass. "Seaside" is taken from Pallikaris's downtempo album Silk released on Germany's fabulous Elektrolux.
