Double Nelson
Roomtone Records
Based in a post-industrial city in northeast France, Double Nelson play a
unique brand of electronic avant-rock, blending live instruments with
samples, loops and found sounds. Fixtures in the European underground,
Double Nelson have recorded a couple of well-received albums, scored a
sci-fi film, and toured extensively, opening for Boredoms, Mecca Normal,
Alex Chilton, and Mudhoney. Most recently they finished a number of dates
supporting Stereolab. The music is hard to describe; try to imagine Boris
Plank, Pram, and Tom Waits engrossed in a game of Pacman. Tim Gane of
Stereolab described them as "A shuddering dislocation of geiger counter and
the gurgling pulse of jelly. Origin unknown. "
