The words gritty and jackin' are synonymous with one man in particular, Daniell Spencer. Labels such as Nepenta, Afterhours, and Real Estate swear by his quintessentially Chicago house sound. So do we.

Daniell Spencer has been a key player in Chicago's underground house scene for well over a decade. As a DJ, he has chopped it up alongside Little Louis Vega, Farley "Jackmaster" Funk, and DJ Sneak. As a producer, he has licensed tracks to respected labels such as Nepenta, Afterhours, Cafeteria, and the Stickman sub-label, Aquarius. "Celebrations" and "The Time Is Now" (taken from various Real Estate EPs), and "By Design" (taken from the Rhythm & Grooves compilation), are just a few of the tracks Spencer has released on Tim Baker's esteemed Real Estate label. All three tracks come equipped with time-honored disco samples, choppy Chi-Town beats, and smooth freeform keys.
