Aquatherium

When Brendan McCarthy isn't jet-setting around the world DJ'ing, he can be found in his San Francisco-based studio creating deep house as Aquatherium. His collaborations with DJs Tony, Rasoul, and Buck have been featured on labels such as Shaboom, Moist, and more recently Redhanded.
Brendan McCarthy has been actively involved in the Bay Area house movement since day one. As a producer, he has released over 40 records on established imprints such as Shaboom, Silver Pearl, Moist Recordings, and By The People. As a DJ, he is internationally recognized for his sets at Ministry Of Sound, Hacienda, and Back II Basics, to name but a few.

More recently, McCarthy has been collaborating in the studio with the likes of Tony Hewitt, DJ Rasoul, Eric Spire, and Buck. In '99, he made a splash as Aquatherium for Shaboom with the underground hit "Discoacidfunk." This prompted Brent Laurence to procure a release of him for the up-and-coming Redhanded imprint. Both "Never Stop" and "Live Show" fuse deep textured chords with playful beats and breaks: a perfect combination for the modern house floor.
